The Lightweight Rugged Electronics Rack (L-RER) is a solution designed for versatile use across aircraft, ground, and sea vehicles. As an FAA-certified product, it meets rigorous standards for safety and reliability.
This 3rd Generation rack offers several key improvements over its predecessors. It is significantly lighter, which not only enhances performance but also reduces overall costs. The new L-RER design decreases manufacturing and delivery times for common sizes to as short as one week, compared to six weeks for the previous design. Additionally, it is more affordable and faster to produce, while still delivering superior strength and durability.
Constructed from high-strength 7075 aluminum and assembled with high-strength alloy steel hardware, the L-RER is built to withstand demanding conditions. Its design allows for easy disassembly and reassembly, making it convenient for storage, empty shipping, or modifications tailored to specific missions. This adaptability ensures that the L-RER can meet a wide range of operational needs effectively.
The L-RER features standard "U" hole patterns on both the front and back panels, and it comes with the option for FAA 8110-3 certification.
It is available in 13 standard sizes and offers shock and vibration isolating mounts, as well as lightweight mounting shelves. The rack is highly customizable, allowing for adjustments in height, width, and depth. Additionally, it can be tailored with custom panels to mount specific equipment, various anodize or iridite colors, and options for attaching equipment to the outside of the L-RER.
Our Lightweight Rugged Electronics Rack features standard "U-type" electronics mounting and is available in 6U, 9U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 15U, 18U, 20U, 21U, 24U, 27U, 28U and 30U model heights. All models are stackable.
A wire rope isolation system can be installed beneath the L-RER to effectively mitigate the impacts of shock and random vibration on the mounted instruments. Additionally, each L-RER rack undergoes rigorous assembly and is subjected to a series of random vibration tests to ensure its resilience and reliability in turbulent environments.
Eighteen mounting holes in the frame of the L-RER allow a wide variety of direct attachment options to suit the needs of the customer. All models can be mounted to our King Air Riser assembly for ease of installation.
